It is with great pride that I present the Annual Financial Inclusion Report 2025 on behalf of the National Council for Financial Inclusion. This year’s report reflects the remarkable progress Tanzania has made in implementing the Third National Financial Inclusion Framework (NFIF3) 2023–2028. It demonstrates our collective commitment to ensuring that every Tanzanian has access to and effectively uses quality, affordable financial products and services that improve livelihoods and promote inclusive economic growth.
In 2025, coordinated efforts under the National Council for Financial Inclusion yielded significant achievements. Notable progress was recorded in expanding financial access points, particularly through the expansion of mobile money agents, banking agents, microfinance institutions, and community microfinance groups, supported by improved ICT infrastructure, interoperability of national identification systems, and rural electrification. These developments contributed to an increase in the Tanzania Financial Inclusion Index (TanFiX) from 0.81 in 2024 to 0.83 in 2025.
