Role Overview

Access Bank Tanzania is seeking a commercially driven Relationship Manager – Chinese Desk to build and manage financial relationships with Chinese corporate entities, investors, and entrepreneurs operating in Tanzania. The role serves as a strategic liaison between the bank and the Chinese business community, driving growth across deposits, lending, foreign exchange, trade finance, and treasury services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Portfolio Growth & Client Acquisition: Identify, acquire, and onboard Chinese corporate clients, investors, and business owners while deepening existing banking relationships to meet target goals.
• Product Cross-Selling & Revenue Generation: Drive growth in deposits, credit facilities, trade finance, FX transactions, and payment solutions tailored to client operational needs. Jobs
• Stakeholder & Network Engagement: Represent the bank at business forums and maintain active networks with Chinese business associations, trade bodies, and commercial groups.
• Credit & Risk Management: Partner with internal Credit, Risk, and Compliance teams to evaluate creditworthiness, conduct client onboarding, enforce KYC/AML guidelines, and monitor portfolio health. Relationship Manager, Chinese Desk
• Client Relationship Management: Conduct regular site visits, perform business reviews, maintain documentation, and serve as the dedicated primary contact for account inquiries and advisory.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Marketing.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in corporate banking, commercial banking, relationship management, or business banking.
• Target Experience: Direct experience managing Chinese corporate clients or working alongside Chinese business entities is a distinct advantage.
• Language Proficiency: Mandarin/Chinese language fluency (spoken and written) is highly advantageous.
• Professional Certification: Professional banking or finance qualifications (CFA, CIB, or equivalent) are an added advantage.
