Reporting to: UG Electrical Foreman
Duration: Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety training, safety meetings, and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist in incident and accident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Comply with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, as well as other company regulations and procedures.
- Install, maintain, and overhaul electrical equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and maximize equipment availability.
- Troubleshoot and repair underground distribution systems, including transformers, circuit interrupters, voltage regulators, medium voltage switches, and related hardware.
- Replace and install medium and high-voltage electrical circuits and terminations,
- Conduct routine testing and safety checks on electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, perform fault-finding, and carry out necessary repairs.
- Complete modifications to electrical systems and equipment as per specifications.
- Support and mentor less experienced personnel through on-the-job training and coaching.
- Execute all tasks and instructions given by supervisors, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ underground electrical maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medium and high voltage systems, substations, and primary power distribution.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical distribution systems, including transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear.
- Formal electrical training or certification aligned with Tanzanian standards.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental policies.
- Proven ability to work under challenging conditions and adapt to operational demands.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

About the Team
Bulyanhulu is situated in north-west Tanzania, in the Kahama district of the Shinyanga region, approximately 55 kilometres south of Lake Victoria and 150 kilometres southwest of the city of Mwanza.
Bulyanhulu is a narrow-vein gold mine containing gold, silver and copper mineralisation in sulphides. The mineralisation of Bulyanhulu is associated with a number of steeply-dipping veins. Bulyanhulu commenced commercial production in 2001.
