Senior Maintenance Technician at Turkys Mifuko

The Technician will be responsible for

  • Handling maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and advanced equipment used in the non-woven manufacturing process.
  • This includes work on extruders, ultrasonic sealing machines, VFD-driven systems, chillers, air compressors, and CNC-controlled cutting systems. 
  • The role demands hands-on expertise in electromechanical troubleshooting, automation diagnostics, and ultrasonic system calibration, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in machines and systems
  • Extrusion Lines with PLC/HMI controls
  • Ultrasonic Cutting & Sealing Machines
  • Servo-driven Bag Cutting Machines
  • VFD and Motor Control Systems
  • Compressors and Chillers with digital controllers
  • Paper Machines
  • Interface with machine interface to identify alarms, system errors, and PLC statuses.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of smart systems to minimize unscheduled downtime.

Troubleshoot issues related to:

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Proximity sensors, limit switches, temperature & pressure sensors
  • Basic PLC circuits (diagnostics level)
  • Electrical panels, relays, contactors, timers, and motor starters
  • Replace or recalibrate sensors, drives, and ultrasonic transducers as needed.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain ultrasonic welding/sealing units used in medical and amenity product lines.
  • Tune and calibrate ultrasonic generators and horns for optimal weld performance.
  • Monitor frequency shifts and ensure correct bonding for non-woven materials.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain logs for:

  • Breakdowns, preventive maintenance tasks, and part replacements
  • Machine alarm histories and corrective action reports
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement and SOP updates based on breakdown data.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow electrical safety standards, 
  • Ensure that machines and equipment are properly shut off and cannot be restarted before the completion of maintenance or repair work.
  • Ensure smart components are grounded, shielded, and insulated properly during handling.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Qualification:

Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or Industrial Electronics

Technical Skills Required:

Hands-on experience in:

  • Ultrasonic sealing/welding systems
  • VFD programming and troubleshooting (Delta, ABB, Siemens, etc.)
  • Sensor calibration and basic automation
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and machine operation manuals
  • Familiarity with machine HMIs, PLC alarms, and diagnostic displays
  • Use of diagnostic tools like multimeters, insulation testers, frequency counters, etc.

Preferred Industry Background: Non-Woven, Packaging, Textile Automation, Plastics, Medical Consumables, or any smart manufacturing sector

Experience: 3–7 years in a factory environment working with smart or semi-automated machinery

  • Good communication to work with production, quality, and OEM engineers

Working Conditions:

  • Factory-floor role with possible shift rotations and emergency call-ins
  • Exposure to heat, noise, electrical cabinets, and industrial settings
  • May require lifting or use of ladders and working in tight spaces
